Abstract The A to Z collection, created by Beloit College Archives staff, is made up of topical folders arranged in alphabetical order. The topics range from specific entities or events from the Beloit College campus, to more general topics. Materials are derived from various offices of origin, and are sometimes photocopied from a larger collection to facillitate increased access. This collection contains mostly correspondence (1852-1885) both personal and college business, much having to do with financial issues, college events, teaching positions, local area issues, students, land and property; also sermons, diaries, speeches, biographical data, administrative files, photographs. This collection consists of only paper materials. These documents range from 1960 until 2009, with the bulk in the 1970s through the 1990s. Numerous members of the college served on this committee and the membership changed consistently throughout its records.

Abstract

This collection is comprised of Faculty and Academic Senate meeting minutes and agendas, as well as supporting documentation for the meetings including correspondence and notes. From 1849-1970, the group in charge of directing the educational program at the college recorded their meetings simply as "Faculty Minutes," though the group consisted of students and administrators as well as faculty. In 1970, they changed their name to Academic Senate.

Abstract Alonzo William Pond graduated from Beloit College in 1918 and served as the assistant curator at the Logan Museum of Anthropology from 1925-1931. He was leader of the Logan Sahara Expedition in 1925-26 and two African expeditions, one in 1926-27 and another in 1929-30. Abstract Anne Bassett Kelley, also known as Nan, Beloit College class of 1907, became a missionary teacher in China. The Archives holds an extensive collection of Kelley's correspondence from China during 1919-1923 as well as letters from her adopted daughter in China to Kelley and other family members, dating from the 1940s-1990s, altogether amounting to hundreds of letters. This collection contains a small amount of press materials and correspondence about the Argonne Semester program, often between Beloit College and the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM), though which Beloit participated in the program, or Argonne National Laboratory itself. The bulk of the collection is dedicated to final reports by Beloit College students who took part in the program from 1962-1964.
