Academic Senate records

Abstract

This collection is comprised of Faculty and Academic Senate meeting minutes and agendas, as well as supporting documentation for the meetings including correspondence and notes. From 1849-1970, the group in charge of directing the educational program at the college recorded their meetings simply as "Faculty Minutes," though the group consisted of students and administrators as well as faculty. In 1970, they changed their name to Academic Senate.

Abstract Anne Bassett Kelley, also known as Nan, Beloit College class of 1907, became a missionary teacher in China. The Archives holds an extensive collection of Kelley's correspondence from China during 1919-1923 as well as letters from her adopted daughter in China to Kelley and other family members, dating from the 1940s-1990s, altogether amounting to hundreds of letters.
