This collection primarily contains programs from commencement ceremonies. There are some president’s notes on commencement, as well as scattered programs for Baccalaureate, Honor’s Day Convocation and audiovisual materials.

This collection is open for research; however, certain materials are fragile and require Archives staff for handling, or use may be restricted altogether.

Biographical / Historical

Commencement has taken place at Beloit College every year, save for 1864, due to a large number of students and faculty fighting in the Civil War. Speakers have given addresses at commencement consistently since the first graduating class.

Organization of the Collection

This collection is organized into series:

  2. 2, President's Files, 1926-1999
  3. 3, Audiovisual, 1982-2008


This collection has been compiled over the years through separate accessions of various sizes from various offices and individuals, none of which has any accompanying documentation. The original order of the documents is unknown. The arrangement order presented here has been imposed by the College Archives staff.

Programs from future commencements and Baccalaureates are expected.
