Paul Nesbitt collection
Paul Nesbitt was a member of the Beloit College class of 1926 who went on to become a professor of anthropology and curator of collections at the Logan Museum of Anthropology. This collection contains correspondence, news articles, photographs, and publications written by Paul Nesbitt, primarily from his time as a professor and curator at Beloit College in the 1930s and early 1940s.

A native of Savannah, GA, Paul Nesbitt was a graduate of Beloit College (class of 1926) with a BA degree on economics, received an MA and PhD degree from the University of Chicago, and did postgraduate study at the University of Southern California. He received an LLD degree from Beloit College in 1981.
He was professor and head of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Alabama from 1967-1974 and was professor emeritus from 1974. He was professor of anthropology at the Air University and director of the Arctic-Desert-Tropic Information Center at Maxwell AFB from 1948 through September, 1967; director of the Museo Nacional de Arqueologia y Anthropologia, Guatemala, CA from 194501948; professor of anthropology and curator, Logan Museum of Anthropology, Beloit College, 1930-1945.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Air Corps and OSS with the rank of captain; and did research in France, Algeria, New Mexico, Guatemala, Venezuela, and Colombia.
